Good machine but uses batteries?, March 11, 2012 By This review is from: Proform 6.0 CE Elliptical (Sports) The machine is well built, sturdy and not too hard to put together. Don't spare the included grease; we had squeeking problems the first time we used it after putting sparing amounts of grease on it. We pulled it apart and added more grease. Now it's quiet and works well with one caveat - it uses 4 D cell batteries and runs through them fairly quickly. Batteries also run the risk of leaking acid and ruining the electronics. When you spend hundreds on a machine you expect it to arrive with an AC adapter, not have to purchase it seperately.

After assembly it became obvious that there was no way to reattach them and that the elliptical had arrived irreparably damaged (i.e. plastic connectors were broken). To add insult to injury, I'm required to ship it back in the box it came in, which is far too small to contain the item now and had to be ripped apart to get the item out.
Big mistake buying this item.
